Copenhagen Dress Code

I'm going to be in Copenhagen this weekend and the weather is going to be spectacular. How do Danes feel about shorts? Are they as disdainful as Parisians when it comes to that kind of attire? Just trying to figure out how to pack....

Thanks! (Also if you want- share your can't miss Copenhagen spots- I have Friday and a half day Sunday to explore... the rest is taken up by a wedding.)

Like in Paris shorts are common amongst locals - Copenhagen weather though does not promote it much - Parisians IME of years going there in shorts are NOT disdaianful of shorts - that is on the street and the younger the French the more they wear shorts just like Americans.

A non-factor - my don't miss Copenhagen spot is Christiana - the Free City that is said to be the most visited place in Copenhagen after Tivoli - one of the only surviving 70s free city communes it is still a bastion of alternate life styes but has some acclaimed art and restaurants:

I also like Bakken, the world's oldest amusement park and one that has much the same as Tivoli but is free - lots of free shows amongst the rides and if weather nice by a nice beach and deer park.

Nyhaven, nice during the day but even better at night, especially Friday night in summer with good weather!

Danes, dress code? :-) I have a collection of funky shorts-shirts combination photos I took when I was in Denmark last May. All sorts of color and pattern clashing combinations. No one cares.

Sounds like you may have been reading Rick Steves? No-one in Copenhagen will give a rats a$$ what you wear. As long as it's warm enough, wear 'em.

More likely they have been reading what some people HERE have said about what to wear.

How the heck did you get the impression that shorts are a no-no in Paris? It's 100 degrees there today and I guarantee most younger folk anyway are in shorts, sports shoes and T-shirts.

An oft misconception of Paris and French fashions - reality is different - perhaps you went and jumped to very wrong conclusions?

<<An oft misconception of Paris and French fashions >>

More like an oft-repeated, baseless, reality-averse, unsupported by actual conditions misconception of Paris and French fashions.

And I'll be danged if any city in the Western World has a "dress code," Scandinavian or not.
