Copehagen..where to stay and how long

Wanted to get advise for those who have been to Copenhagen right now we are taking the train into Copenhagen for 2.5 days from Berlin. Is 2.5 days enough? How long would you suggest? I just want to get a good feel of city, cafes, bars, trivoli, little mermaid.

Also where are best areas to stay. Me and my husband are in our early 30s and want a nice area, cute cafes/bars(not clubs) nearby in month of July. We love live music, fun atmosphere areas so any suggestions you can offer would be great.

I was thinking of staying near Nyhavn but wasn't sure if it was not lively enough area to stay for the entire trip.

Definitely Nyhavn! It is the most lively area for sure! 2.5 will give you a good taste.
