Cool evening activites in Paris?
 

Hi all, <BR> <BR>I'll be in Paris July 5th through July 11th and am looking for cool/interesting/fun things to do each evening. It seems the days are easily filled by trips to museums, monuments, Versailles, etc., but I'm having difficuly planning evening activities. My 17 year old cousin will be travelling with me, so keep her age in mind. It can be anything from a stoll along the Siene to a cabaret show to the opera. Doug - <BR>July should be nice and warm for you, so evenings outdoors are definitely called for. Most of the times I've been in Paris, I spend evenings simply enjoying a nice relaxing dinner followed by a walk through different areas observing the night life. It really is amazing how different things look after dark. Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower all come to mind. The Latin quarter is also enjoyable in the evenings. The last time I was there, we (myself, my two daughters, my sister and a friend) took an evening cruise on the Seine. That was lovely. It was a bit chilly (we were there at Christmas) but in July that shouldn't be a problem! <BR>Have a wonderful time. <BR> <BR>Beth

I agree with the boat tour on the Seine. We took one early one evening and really enjoyed it. <BR>We have enjoyed going to both the ballet and opera in Paris as well. Just walking around Paris in the evening is a treat in itself.

I'm not sure I'd be up for it, but your cousin might be: I think on a Lonely Planet episode, they showed where one night a week hundreds or thousands of rollerbladers rollerblade through the city streets, apparently with police escort. Sounds like an interesting way to see the city, particularly for someone a little more nimble than myself. Perhaps one could tag along by bike!

Do a night bike tour through the city to see the monuments and city lights or a tour that they have going through more out of the way places you might not see otherwise. It's a great way to see the city (weather permitting).

http://www.paris.org/Calendar/ <BR> <BR>For a long time, this wasn't available but it's up and running. <BR> <BR>There are jazz clubs (the Meridian in the 17th has a particularly good one) in the 5th; cabarets abound, but if you are not a French-speaker, most of it will be lost to you - better to stick to music or dance. Place de Tertre is always hopping (if you don't mind mimes), as is the Bastille area.
