Dehillerin is great. I go in from time to time to buy baking stuff, and they always have what I need. There "facture" process is wonderful once you've figured it out, but they don't like browsers so much.

This is THE BEST yogurt. I love the vanilla; I eat it everyone morning when I am in France. And you get a lovely souvenir!! You will love/hate me for turning you on to this.

Emile Henry wares are ceramics that can be put on the flame directly. And very handsome.

menachem - can you expand on the "facture" process?
DebitNM - that looks great! Can I get that at most supermarche/hypermarche? |
Near Dellerhin there are a number of other cookware stores, most geared to professional cooks, but don't we all like to have that quality.
I've seen good prices on really nice cookware in a hardware store on rue Cler. |
Yes, almost every supermarche carries them, even is small one in Paris! Many varieties, each comes in a different color pot.

Either you get the item you want yourself: small stuff, items on the shelves that are not too high up, or you ask one of the store people to get it for you. Then you ask to pay, and the store person will take the item from you, directing you to the desk where the "facture" is drawn up for you. You are handed the facture, then you go to another desk to pay, and the store person is waiting with your item which you'll receive if you show the "facture", which you just paid.
BHV is also good for cookware, but it's aimed at home cooks. |
