cooking school july 2004

Hi!

this is my first post here. I have tentatively booked a cooking school for 1 week in July in Portovenere, however, noone else is currently booked so it may be cancelled. Is anyone else planning on a 6 or 7 day cooking school in Italy the week of July 4/2004 that they know will be operating? I have contacted a couple of other schools, but so far noone is able to confirm they will actually go ahead. I would prefer the Liguria/Tuscany regions but am a bit flexable. The only real issue is I am booked to start a tour of Italy in Rome July 12th. ps: I am NOT an expert cook, looking for recreational classes only!
Thanks!

topping for mjr

ira:

what does "topping" mean?

yk Feb 16th, 2004 09:35 PM

mjr:
"topping" means bringing your post back to the top of the order (on the L hand side of the screen)

Bascially, the traffic is so busy on this board, a new message gets pushed down the list quickly. Each time someone answers to a post, that post gets brought back up to the top.
Since no one answered your post for 12hrs, it probably was way down in #150+, which makes it unlikely to be read by anybody. Ira (and other frequent posters) often "tops" posts that are unanswered so that those posts will more likely be read.

Ira- I hope you don't mind me answering for you! :-)

MJR,
have you tried googling with
"corso di cucina" or "scuola di cucina" + "umbria", or "toscana" or "liguria" (or in english, as most sites have some kind of english counterpart)?
I'ld try and focus on Umbria because it is still a bit more unspoiled.

It's not quite the area you want but give this a try. www.taste-italia.com.

Thank you for your info....I already have 4 places that will go ahead *if* 2-3 more people book. I was hoping to hear of a class that already had the minimum number of participants so would be a definite "go". I will keep checking with the many, many schools, and hope there are some more people out there that want to cook in Italy in July! I cannot change my dates, and I really had my heart set on the one at Portovenere...right next to Cinque Terre that everyone raves about.
