cooking classes or school in tuscany area

i am interested in hearing if anyone has had any experience in taking cooking classes. i prefer either Florence or the surrounding Tuscany area. i would prefer a situation where perhaps you stay at the villa that gives the classes. any thoughts. thanks

My wife Jane and I, joined a week-long organic cooking course in the coutryside near Florence last summer. The classes were very hands-on, taught by local chefs that guided us through the preparation of tuscan dishes. We had tours and meals in beautiful cities such as Siena, Florence and San Gimignano. The week was a perfect balance of cooking, eating and drinking, seeing great sights, and relaxing. All the produce was organic and delicious. The farms we visited were amazing. The Accommodation was in a typical Tuscan villa a few minutes walk from the farmhouse where the cooking classes were held. The name of the school is Organic Tuscany and you can find more information on their site: www.organictuscany.org

I have not done any of these but I do have some names if you want me to look for them and post. One I can think of offhand is:

Elisa will come to your own accommodation inside the Chianti Classico wine territory and provide cooking lessons. Her food is good! http://www.greve-in-chianti.com/elisa.htm

TDK-Several years ago my family used Divina Cucina in Florence for a day long cooking class. She is actually an American who has lived in Florence for quite a while. The attraction of her class was twofold-we got to sit down with her at the beginning and request items to learn to make. Secondly, and most fun, we spent several hours wandering the Central Market shopping for our ingredients with all the small vendors that she knows well sampling their wares. I think her website was www.divinacucina.com or something close. Good luck!
