Convents in Rome

I plan on traveling to Rome next September or October. I'm very interested in taking the "full cultural immersion" path and staying in a convent. I want to be located close-in - so I can walk to see a lot of the sights. Half or full board would also be nice.

I'd appreciate hearing any suggestions or recomendations.....thank much.

Convent of Santa Brigida in Piazza Farnese is wonderfully located and very central. Not cheap though. There used to be a book called "Bed and Blessings Italy" that had descriptions and rates for many convents. Some are very spartan with a curfew, others, like Santa Brigida, are well appointed and cater to tourists.

I believe also that Casa Kolbe is convent like though not a convent. Its certainly well located near the Forum. Might be worth a look.

Istituto Santa Giuliana Falconieri and Fraternus Domus are probably the two most central convents at which to stay (and they are under 50 Euros for a single).
