From the RATP webside
bus/bus (including transfers between the RATP and OPTILE networks), for 90 minutes between the 1st and last validation;
bus/tram and tram/tram, for 90 minutes between the 1st and last validation.
Check it out yourself

I must have. The only link to a guide to be downloaded I found, was for the metro. I don't question your word but do wonder about the discrepancy. What's the deal?
Personal experience wise, I have been checked numerous times on the bus but never hit for trips that have taken over 90 minutes. Hmm.

As this is a frequently asked question with always much discussion, would your please be so kind as to furnish the link to the download you mentioned, (with differing information than that I posted) . . .which I can't seem to find.

I am going to agree with you Envierges. The latest version of RATP website now specifies that the time limits only apply to connections, not to maximum allowable time limits one may remain within the networks or on a bus. As far as I am aware, this is a change to the wording that the RATP has used in the past; perhaps to clarify their original intention.

However, what possible scenario are you envisioning that this might concern an average tourist to Paris? Are you really planning on spending 2 to 3 hours on a city bus?

"Are you really planning on spending 2 to 3 hours on a city bus?"
Can you hear my giggles? I never PLAN to but it happens. You know, you live here.

The timing obviously concerns them enough to ask frequent questions about it. "Just the facts, ma'am."

I don't get a download...just continued links to other screens. The last I could link to says
"Once validated, the t+ ticket allows you to make as many transfers as you want on the metro and RER networks for 2 hours (after the first validation), and for 90 minutes on the bus and tram networks (between the first and last va..."
I assume the word unfinished is validation. So I'll stick with my original time between validations approache
But this does say plainly " . . as many transfers as you want. . . . and for . . . "

But there are many places served by more than one bus line. Can you return to your point of origin or to a street nearby on a different bus line if you are within the time limit (an unlikely scenario, but . . .)?

Exactly right - you can't board the same bus twice.
You've got all the time limits in the English version.
People who have to buy a ticket from the bus driver have to pony up 2 EU.
