Contours Walking tours???

Has anyone ever used Contours Walking Tours in England? How did everything go? How were the accommodations?

Molly,

Our family did the Coast to Coast walk across England in August 2004. We did our self-guided walk through Sherpa Expeditions (www.sherpa-walking-holidays.co.uk), who we have worked with now on four different trips.

We met up with several other walkers who were doing their walk through Contours. Most nights we seemed to stay at the same places. (We got to know some of these people quite well over a 2+ weeks walk!) They were very pleased with Contours, just as we were with Sherpa.

As far as accommodations, depending on where you walk, the accommodations can end up being somewhat rustic... two or sometimes three star places. Normally there is an ensuite bath, but occasionally these are not available in more remote places. We were always perfectly happy with where we stayed, but they can sometimes be more rustic inns or B&Bs.

What walk are you thinking of doing?

We did the Hadrian's Wall Walk with Contours and it was the best vacation of our lives. The accomodations all had ensuite baths. Admittedly, they were all 3 star B & Bs but we expected as much out in the country. The people were wonderful. The food was AMAZING! The countryside was more beautiful than words can tell. The trail was well marked so we always knew where to go. We can't wait to do another walk.

Welcome to Fodors Lily. If you'll note, this thread is five years old. I assume you searched for anything about Contours and up popped this old thing???
