Context Paris Tours

Hello!

I am working on the itineary for our 1-week stay in Paris, and I was wondering if anyone can share their experience with the tours offered by Context Paris. We are considering :

* Louvre Italian Masters 85Euros
* Art and Architecture of Gothic
Paris 75Euros

I am trying to stretch those Euros given the current decline of the USD.

We have taken 2 tours with this company in Rome, and LOVED them, but was wondering if anyone has taken tours with this company recently.

Thank you as always for your invaluable input. :-)

I've taken their tours in Rome and thought they were wonderful. I'm sure the Paris tours will be equally good.

If you're concerned about prices I can recommend Paris Walks. I've taken many of their tours and think the guides are great. Most tours are 10 Euros for a two-hour walk.

You don't say when your Paris trip is but Paris Walks has a Louvre highlights on May 21 and May 28 for 15 Euro plus entrance fee.

pnk - I cannot comment on Paris but I used them in Florence and Rome and they were both fantastic tours that were among my highlights.

Adrienne: we go in June; I have emailed Paris Walks inquiring about the June programme; so, hopefully, it will be available soon.

MomDDTravel: we have used them in Rome as well, and had a great experience.

Just trying to plan accordingly, and trying to stretch that dollar.

Thank you so much for your input. :-)

I can't give you any feedback on the tours.

But since you mentioned the Louvre, do you know about the DVDs by The Teaching Company? They have a series (2 DVDs I think) called Masterpieces of the Louvre. The professor is really good (we had bought his other series on Impressionist) and we also have the Louvre one which we haven't gotten around to watch yet. In fact, our local library carries most of the DVDs by Teaching Company. Just some suggestions to help you stretch your dollar. :)

We used Context for a private tour from Paris out to Vaux le Vicomte...excellent guide and would most definitely use them again.

YK: I never thought of the DVD option; I will see if it is available at my local library. it will be a nice refresher course since my last art history class was many, many moons ago. ;)

Dukey: thank you for your feedback. it is greatly appreciated.

Now back to finalizing the itineary; I have to say planning is so much fun. 37 days and counting!
