Contacting Pension in Sifnos
I have seen several recommendations for Pension Gerontis, but I have not seen any way to contact them. Do they have e-mail? Or do you have a fax number?
Thanks,
Vera Marie

Use google dear, google is your friend, and you'll find several ways to contact them... i think Thesaurus agency handles theire bookings, not any more expensive than direct, a member of the family works there, a very reliable agency.
Remember Google. every traveler should try google first. Good hunting!

Since I am a researcher, dear, I am quite familiar with Google. I tried it and could not find anything but a phone number for Gerontis. On the Thesaurus site they do not list prices. I need to contact the pension directly.
My question was, does anyone have an e-mail or a fax number?
So, does anybody have an answer to my question?
Thanks.
P.S. I am not new to Fodors, having posted for many years under a different name, but I am having technical difficulties with Fodors.com and had to create a new log on.

I'm not a researcher, but I did find this web page for Geronti Pension, which does list prices: http://www.vacation-cyclades.com/hotels/sifnos/geronti/
Suggest you contact them through their telephone number, as many emails go unanswered this time of year.

Heimdall: Thank you very much. I thought the name was Pension Gerontis and had not searched under Gerontis Apartments. That gets to the sites you gave me, which were very helpful.
Thanks again.

Veramarie, I recommend the website Heimdall suggests:http://www.en.luis.gr/reservation.htm. This is recent - I haven't seen it before, and it does allow you to book with Mrs. Geronti directly, which can mean that you actually pay less at the end of your stay. However, the first telephone number given is Mrs. Geronti's own, and she doesn't speak English! Also, at this time of year she and her husband are usually in Athens until the end of February. However, her daughter, who lives next door and handles most of the bookings, speaks excellent English - one of the other numbers must be hers. If you need any more information I can probably help - just ask.

Nikoletta: Hope you will see this. I've been on hold. We filled in the form on the german site for Gerontis, but they have not replied (in Athens, as you said, perhaps)
We were tempted by Sifnaika Konakia in Kamares, but decided we would actually rather stay in the Appollonia/Artemon area. (Have been in Sifnos briefly before)
I generally trust to booking when I get there, but this time we are staying a whole week, and I want the place to be right. We'll be there the 1st week in June, and price IS an object.
Any other suggestions? (You can e-mail me off list if you wish at veramarie at pen4hire.com

I agree with Gaspard - call them on the phone. Better to spend a few dollars on a phone call than sitting around wondering when you will get an answer to your email.
Tip: some island hotels have an off-season contact number.

BTW, I don't know if they have similar deals where you live, but I can call the US from England for 5 cents/min. Calls from England to Greece are slightly more expensive, but well worth the cost for peace of mind.

I am not a researcher, but I did find the following link for 2008 prices and figured out the name probably does not begin with "Pension." There is a chance this is not the correct facility, but it does look like a good choice.

Good luck researching your trip and finding the information you need.

Heimdal,
My post was mostly a sarcastic response in support of travelerjan who made an honest, logical post that was not well received by the "researcher." I said it and "own up" to it.

Thanks to everybody who has posted helpful replies.
For those who think I over-reacted to the first reply, maybe so. Having a strainger call me "dear" sets my teeth on edge. I prefer to get replies without patronizing, when possible.
Sincere thanks to all who shared helpful info.
