connecting to internet at internet point

is it hard to connect to the internet from an internet point in a cafe; how low do you use all your time logging on to the internet

About 15 seconds from the time I sit down by an available computer.

This has to be the only thread where people will post - "I have done it in 10 seconds"

Not really sure about the second part of your question, but the answer to the first part - should be very easy, provided that your laptop has wireless capability.

In 99.9% of my experiences, all I had to do was open the web browser and if there was a wireless provider available, it either connected me to my homepage (if it was free) or to the front page of the provider with explanation and a link to "purchase" time. Once the time was purchased, then you just click on any bookmarked page or type in any web address you want and surf......

Well, wombat, I'll have to get things started then, but it just might have taken me under 10 seconds to connect to the internet in an internet point in Europe.

I intend to use my wifi enabled pda to keep up with the family back home ! Nice and small, and will act as a phone as well for real emergencies.
