Waterford or Kilkenny
Traveling to Ireland in May with a girlfriend, and planning on passing through Waterford. Is it worth it to stay the night in Waterford, or go see it and keep driving north to spend the night in Kilkenny? I can't see too many hotel choices in Waterford, but I'm seeing a lot in Killkenny. Thoughts? We have just 1.5 days for this leg of our trip, so not sure if we're trying to cram two much by visiting both towns in that time frame. Worth it?
Thanks in advance!

Kilkenny every time!
Make a short stop in Waterford, visit what you want to see and continue on to stay in Kilkenny for the afternoon/evening and the next morning. Pick a hotel near to the main street so you can walk to/from town that evening. Plenty to choose from as you've seen.

A third vote for Kilkenny.
Agree with madamtrashheap's suggestion to pick a place close enough to walk to town - many drinking/music venues in Kilkenny.
Enjoyed walking the parkgrounds surrounding the Kilkenny Castle. And, nice shopping at the Kilkenny Design Center for Irish crafted items.
