Confusion booking London Theatre tickets

The site www.londontheatre.co.uk was recommended. But the prices seem to be the same as booking at the theatre itself (the Harold Pinter theatre). BUT there's a site londontheatre.co.uk (no www) that looks a little different, but has the same phone number and has discounted seats - is this one legit? Are they sister sites?

I want to get tickets for just this one show ahead and we'll wing it for anything else.

Thanks for your help!!

I always just book through the theatre. Then there is no confusion.

They are the same website

>> But the prices seem to be the same as booking at the theatre itself <<

They would be - not sure why you'd think tickets are cheaper through other sites. Discounts are available at TKTS once you are IN London. But even there - there are far fewer half price or discounted seats than in years past. TKTS now sells some tix at say a 25% discount, and even some at full price. I never buy full price tix at TKTS because there is a small booking fee on top and you can walk a few blocks to the actual theatre's box office and buy in person.

When are you trying for tickets? If January, there is a special promotion on (http://www.getintolondontheatre.co.uk/) with good savings on a number of performances. These can be booked online. If the play you are after is Nice Fish (on at the Harold Pinter until Feb 11), that's included in the Get Into London Theatre promotion. And it seems to be a regular at TKTS - Mark Rylance is a wonderful actor but this play isn't doing all that well in terms of ticket sales. Note that you can buy tickets at TKTS up to three days in advance these days.

So it turned out that it depended on the browser - I forget which, but ONE of the browsers showed different graphics for with/without the www. I emailed our hotel about where to buy tickets and he sent me a site, but I ended up booking Nice Fish directly at the theatre. I'm considering buying one more ahead of time (again at the theatre, only because it's a small theatre and I'm worried there won't be any seats left by the time we get there.

The sites with discounts were very inconsistent and left me a tad worried, so I dropped the idea. We'll use TKTS when we're there.

Thanks all.
