Confused about train price
I've been looking on the Deutsch Bahn site to find out how much it costs to take the IC or ICE train from Munich to Frankfurt one way for 2 people and I'm completely confused. I got a quote of 92 Euros. Is that for 1 person or 2? Can someone help me clear up this mystery? Thanks!

Hi emc,
Probably for two, but why not try it again for only one person and see what price you get? |
If second class, that would be the price for 2 together.

One person varies between 58 and 65 euros (just checked on site) couldn't find your two for 95 but could be in ballpark. There are various routings may account for differences. And slight variance as to ICE or IC but not much.

If you selected 2 people in your initial query, then the price displayed is for 2, not per person. For 2 people traveling together, the first passenger pays full fare while the second pays only half fare. So I'm guessing if you looked up the fare for one, it would be in the neighborhood of 60 euros.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I've spent so much time on that web site!

The cost for a single ticket without a discount of any kind on the Munich - Frankfurt (Main) line ranges from a high of 64.90 ? to a low of 52.80?
The ICE trains do cost more. Travel time is about 4 hours for the cheapest train and about 3 and a half hours for the fastest ICE. Tickets for 2 adults range from 79.20 ? to 97.20 ? I saw no prices for 92 ? On some of the connections, you change in Mannheim. There are many departures during the day. |
