Confused about Orsay ticket prices
 

On their official website Orsay says the ticket price for entrance and temporary exhibits is 11 euros. The basic entrance without exhbit was 9 euros in october 2013. Can I still buy the 9 euro ticket if I'm not interested in going to the temporary exhibit or have they changed the price to automatically include the exhibit? I can't find anything on the web saying their prices have increased.

It looks like the price is now E11. I doubt that you could enter for E9 since that price is no longer valid. You can go in the evening for E8.5. I'm not sure why you're worried about E2 - it's the price of a small coffee.

I've never seen any notification of price increases. When my supermarket increased the price of bread there was no notification.

I assume you mean Musee d'orsay?

There's no mention of a €9 euro ticket, pay the €11 it's worth it. I also can't see any mention if a temporary exhibit at the moment.

There also was no advance notification when the Musee d'Orsay prohibited taking any photographs in the galleries. That prohibition began in 2012, I believe.

Yes there are special exhibits on now and bound to be more through the year.
General admission is 11 euros. That includes the temporary exhibits. The website also lists the English guided tours, well worthwhile, at a 6 euro supplement. Or rent an audio guide. You can even find an interactive calendar where you click on a date to see what's happening. Enjoy; it's all worth it in this most distinctive of art museums. (My secret passion: the art nouveau furniture.)

These price increases are making a 4-day Museum Pass a good idea in our case!
