I just wanted to share my experience with Eurostar. I went to London in January and decided to take a trip to Paris for the day. I was a little hesitant going by myself. Needless to say, I booked a day trip through Eurostar. I had an opportunity to change my ticket to first class. I think total round trip from London to Paris and back was 129.00. I must say it was well worth it. I felt like a Queen! The breakfast and supper were wonderful. I found the service and staff to be excellent.

RhondaR, are you quoting in pounds or dollars? How did you upgrade to first class? Did you request it at the ticket counter or did they mention it to you?

Hi Luv,
In one of those strange quirks of fate, Raileurope is selling London/Paris one-day return tickets for less than they cost from Eurostar. 2cl is 91 USD. |
fabulous help - thanks

BritRail England pass is a BritRail pass good only in England, and not Scotland or Wales or Northern Ireland - and is correspondingly cheaper than all Britain BritRail (which also doesn't cover Northern ireland). The BritRail england pass was new last year i believe. |
Here's my experience with RailEurope. Went on the net and booked daytrip for $92. Two days later got an email from RE saying those fares weren't available, giving me a new price over double that for the next day same times, or 1.5 times for horrible times. Since I had already bought tickets for an exhibit that day, I was stuck. So with RE, I would definitely advise phoning before relying on website.
I ended up getting my tix from SNCF, higher price, but less than RE, and at least the same day/same times. |
