Condor Airlines
Anyoneone have experence with Condor Airlines? Is their comfort class the same as first class? Looking at booking a flight from Las Vegas to Frankfurt.

Compares to other international airlines' older-style business class. 2-2-2 seating on the 767, 49" pitch. But not flat bed or lie-flat. Here's a photo:

My question is does the coach class have plugins for game systems? We are traveling in June with 2 12 year olds and are wondering if they will be able to charge their gameboys?

I'm bookmarking this because I've never heard of Condor. I like the idea of another option in a direct flight from the west coast to Europe. I've always flown out of LAX but flying out of Las Vegas would be easy too. I've missed some connections when having to connect in NY or Philly to get to Italy. Direct to anywhere in Europe then a flight into Rome is best for us.
Thanks dgassa for the question and thanks rkkwan for the link. |
I doubt there will be power port in coach. They don't even have personal video screens.

pilates - FYI, Condor has been around since the late 40s, so it has a long record. It was originally Lufthansa's subidiary for charter flights, and then began its own scheduled flights (in the 60s I think). A few years ago, it was bought by the Thomas Cook tour group, and is its parent company today. In addition to Condor's own fleet, the "old" Thomas Cook fleet is being renamed Condor.

Thanks dfr for the info. I looked on their website for a flight from Vegas to Venice. You cannot see flight details on their website. I called them up and learned that they don't actually fly direct. Their flight to Venice stops in Orlando and then in Frankfurt. In fact, he said (if I understood him correctly) that all of their flights from the U.S. "always stop in Frankfurt" before your final destination. He also said that it is imperative to call the airline 48 hours before your scheduled flight because they are a charter airline and schedules can and do change.
I once flew a charter flight to Paris, Course Air, which I don't believe is in existence any more. It was one of the nicest flights I had ever taken. I'm open to the idea of charter flights, but it doesn't look like Condor will work for me after all....unless I need to find my way to Frankfurt. |
