Concerts at St. Chapelle in April??
I've attempted to reserve for any concert at St. Chapelle for a visit to Paris in April but it looks to me that they begin May 11th. Could someone guide me to a site for information and tickets during a stay in April? Your response would be most appreciated. Merci.

We were there in April 1999, and there were concerts most nights (frequently two). We had no trouble geting tickets at the door (30-45 minutes before time). There are usually two price tiers, depending how close to the front you wish to sit. There are usually fliers posted near the street entrance describing the concerts, and also listing a phone number if you wish to reserve tickets in advance (or have someone at the hotel do it for you).

I tried my luck at searching, too, Patty. I know of two sites that list concerts in Paris. The first site (Site 1)below seems fairly comprehensive, except that I could find NO concerts at Sainte Chapelle.
But it has a wide range of other offerings, even the Opera Bastille.
The second site, Ampconcerts, is the one I used in 1999 to reserve tickets for a performance at Sainte Chapelle. But the listings are sometimes less than fully up to date.
Right now it lists no concerts for the spring of 2001.
You can find concerts in Paris, but if you were particularly looking forward to a performance at Ste. Chapelle, keep trying. I thought Ste. Chapelle was great acoustically. (We went to a performance in Salzburg at the Mirabell Palace to hear a string quartet. The acoustics were not very good, and it was hot!!)

I agree with Charles. All you have to do is go to St. Chapelle and check what appeals to. There are concerts every night and different companies seems to deal with different nights. So what you see on the website is very limited. You don't even need to speak French because they sell tickets only for the same night. On the morning of a chosen concert go in the morning (they open at 9 am) to the window which is not the same window where you get tickets for the cathedral. I use this approach at least six times and always got tickets I wanted and never there was a line. Once there were two people in front of us. Note that in the evening you will use another entrance to St. Chapelle.

I seem to recall that the day time ticket office for the Ste. Chapelle concerts is inside the gate, which means you have to go through the Palais of Justice check point.
Does anybody remember exactly?
I know we went through the check point to tour the church itself, both levels, and then had to exit through the court room area itself. Seems like it was National Open day. I must admit that French criminals get to stand trail in a beautiful environment.

You are correct Bob. Every visitor to St. Chapelle has to go through the check point. However, this entrance is closed in the evening and you have to use another entrance which is two buidings down the street. It is still the Palaise of Justice. Loved Vivaldi.

You can also buy tickets as we did at the Virgin Megastore on Champs-Elysee. We bought them a couple of days before, and the chapel was not full. Of course, this may not be satisfactory for you if you have something specific in mind - I was just looking for something 'classical', not anything in particular.
