Concert at La Sainte Chappelle Tickets
 

I am looking for a site in english (preferred) to be able to book and print concert at La Sainte- Chappelle tickets. I typically look for an "Official site" to avoid extra add-on fees. I see one site ClassicTic, but I think it has the extra add-on fees inclusive , 34 euros. I found a site in french that looks like at least it is less, 30 euros . Not knowing french I am a little leary. I have Googled but not really able to tell what may be an "Official site". Is there even one.? I found the "Official site" for La Sainte-Chappelle I think, but no mention of concerts. Any recommendations? I want to attend "a Little Night Music" Sept 6, 2012.

There is a box office near the lower level of St Chapelle where you can buy concert tickets for as little as 20 euros. We bought them a day before a concert and paid 25 euros per ticket but there was not much difference in the seating to justify paying more than 20 euros. No need to bother with Classictics.

As far as I can tell, the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, that runs the Sainte Chapelle, doesn't organise the concerts there. Some seem to be organised by an organisation called Euromusic that has the most odd website I've seen, but it seems fairly clear that their standard price is €25, and tickets are offered through a number of different agencies, of which ClassicTic is one.

The only one I can see that mentions anything on 6 September is FNAC, which is a big chain of book and record shops with a ticket agency to which most Parisians would, I suspect, turn first for anything. They've got a Mozart concert listed on that date there for €33 (reduction to €22 only for students, the unemployed and FNAC members):

First, you should spell it correctly in order to get the right websites from google: It's chapelle, not chappelle, and there's no need for La.

I don't see any indication anywhere on the web that A Little Night Music is playing at Sainte Chapelle on September 6. At any rate, you can buy tickets at the entrance, or from any FNAC store, which will of course charge a small markup.

PatrickLondon's Mozart concert on the 6th probably includes Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusic"; the Broadway show could not in any form be presented in Sainte Chapelle.

The concerts are presented by an outside organization, which I suppose rents the venue in the evenings. You can buy tickets at the door, or you can't, depending on the popularity of the program, but I would be surprised if there were many occasions when you could not.

It is a spectacular setting for a concert in the evening, and the group is so small that you can see far more than you can at much greater leisure than during the day. You can wander around and take as many pictures as you want while they break down the seating and music stands.

BUT the acoustics are pretty terrible for chamber music. There is so much echo off the stone that it is very difficult for the players -- most of whom seem to be conservatory students -- to play in unison. It also takes a while to get in because of the security for the court buildings.

Having said that, I enjoyed my evening immensely because of the setting, including the spookily empty halls of the courts buildings. But it is not going to be one of the great musical experiences of your life if you like music a lot and have the opportunity to hear live music regularly.

This site http://www.ampconcerts.com/ is 30 euros and the one in french.

ampconcerts is the musical organization that puts on those concerts, they are not put on by the venue. So ampconcerts it the official site. YOu can buy those tickets at FNAC or the ticket agency inside Virgin Megastore on the Champs-Elysees. They charge 33 euro, I believe, as they have a couple euro service charge. I don't think you can buy them by eticket from anyone, even ampconcerts, but I might be wrong on that (it looks like you just make a reservation then would have to pick them up somewhere). FNAC has an English language section, but you still have to pick them up in the store. I personally wouldn't worry about not being able to buy a ticket if you were there a day or two ahead, but if you really are worried, I'd pay the 3 euro service charge if you can't manage their own website. There isn't really that much to it, just dates etc.

Thank You Christina. This is making sense to me now. I will attend the concert that is for sure. There are several options to get the tickets :)

We reserved on the ampconcert site in May and picked up the tickets at the door on the way into St Chapelle. It was very easy.

We have reserved the tickets online from ampconcerts, and picked up at the door that evening. when we went there were two "tiers" of seating--about half way up to the front--which cost a little more. Also be aware it isn't reserved seating and it is a little like boarding on southwest. So go early and stand in line to get in the small doors.
I would also say that at some concerts, if you really want to go, buy your ticket before (it is true you can just show up and probably buy a ticket). We wanted to go on All Saints Day for wonderful concert and you couldn't get NEAR the door.

I will also add, this is an unheated venue, so if it is cold outside, it is cold inside.
To us, it was worth the effort to sit near the front and see the musicians. It is a very fun and beautiful concert.

This is a follow up to my inquiry. Maybe this will help others interested in going. I did use http://www.ampconcerts.com/ The price is €30. The other option, Classic Tickets is €34 and it looks like the ticket needs to be picked at a specified location. Initially, I was not feeling comfortable with the ampconcerts website being in French. I decided to give it a try. I was easily able to navigate to the date, location (being Sainte-Chapelle) and the particular concert I wanted just fine. Then the next step was just to give your name and email address. Then the next screen with a big MERCI appeared with the following message in french, english and spanish: "Sir, Madam, Thank you for your phon call. Your seats are booked and you can collect the tickets at the desk at the church entrance 30 minutes before the concert starts. You can pay for the tickets then, in cash only. The seats are not numbered and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Thank you for your visit, enjoy the concert and have o pleasant stay in Paris." So, I am happy to say I will be attending a concert at the beautiful Sainte-Chapelle :)
