Companions Fly free (or for $1) with two European bound operators this summer

Article in Frommer's budget travel on msnbc.com this morning about deals for companions (2) going to Europer this summer. Thought someone would like to know.

Thanks for the info. My husband told me about it this morning and I have been trying all morning to get to talk to a human at United vacations. When I finally talked to someone they told me the prices listed were per person!?! Am I just stupid or what? It says cost for two not per person? Anyway I thought under $1000 for two and they are quoting me $1,400.00 for two. How do you read this? I have not been able to get through on the internet to completetion due to high usage.

Haven't read this offer but noticed a similar one in the Sunday Supplement from Visit Europe (visiteurope.com)

From trafalgar.com 800 854 0103 "Fly for a buck" Book yourself & a companion on an air-inclusive vacation to....(lots of places) and your companion flies for $1. MUST BE BOOKED BY JUNE 6.

I checked the United Vacations site, and while it said the flights were 2 for 1, for specifics you had to choose your flights, hotels were included and it would give you a p/p price which would include the airfare being split. Then it listed some examples, the lowest being London at $565 I think (flight & 3 nights hotel included), but that must have been a p/p price, so I don't see where the guy who wrote the article got the $799 for 2 price.

Sorry, I read it exactly the way that you read it... Maybe they marked everything up by 100% and then, 2 for 1 became the same price as p/p.

I did notice some great airfair deals / hotel deals on travelzoo.com for europe, and ireland today as well... Maybe you can find a better deal from one of those listings..

Also heard of a similar deal if you purchase tickets with a Mastercard. The trick was you had to pay full fare for the first ticket which may be more than 2x some of the fares currently offered.
