Como to Milan/Malpense Airpiort

Has anyone recently traveled from the town of Como, Italy to Malpensa Airport?

What do you want to know about it? Travel options? There is limited bus service. There is also a train, which requires a change at Saronno.

Ellen - The direct SPT airport bus service from Como was discontinued last year, I believe.

Thank you for your thoughts - I had feared that the bus service had been discontinued - Now I'm trying to understand the train options/changes.

For the town of Como, take a train from Malpensa to Saronno, where you transfer to a train to Como.

For points at mid-lake, like Bellagio, Menaggio, or Varenna, take the express bus from Malpensa to Milano Centrale train station. From there, take a train to Varenna-Esino.

Thank you for the help. We will be leaving from Como, going to Malpensa - it seems to me that this itinerary will avoid a change at the Milan Central train station, which I've heard can be frantic.....

I've found Milano Centrale no more or less frantic than any other big city train station, but glad you found an option that works for you.
