Como to Malpensa Airport..how long ?

We have to catch a 7am flight outof Malpensa. Is it reasonable to assume we can check in early enough, when taking a train or limo (?) from Como?

Your only option is to take a limo or taxi. I strongly recommend staying overnight at a hotel near Malpensa.

I second the suggestion to stay closer to the airport; but if you are an early riser, you can make it. From somewhere in the city of Como, which I assume is what you meant, it is possible to get to Malpensa by car/limo in 30 to 45 minutes. With some lead time to allow for check-in, you will probably need to leave the hotel in Como no later than 5:00am, or earlier if you really want to play it safe. So you need to decide if this is too early to be reasonable. If it were my trip, and if I had spent several days in the hotel in Como, I'd probably just stay there for the last night and leave very early in the morning, preferably by taxi. The taxi will cost a good bit; I would estimate somewhere around $50-$70. Good luck.

At that early hour, you can easily make to Malpensa from Como (the city, that is) in 30 minutes. I would plan on leaving at around 4:30 just to play it safe.....Or, as previously suggested, stay overnight near Malpensa!

We just returned from Bellagio (on Lake Como) and stayed overnight at the Villa Malpensa the night before our flight. Your taxi from the hotel will be $11, even though it is only about 5 blocks, and the hotel was extremely expensive!!! Didn't seem worth the high cost and the dining room was extraordinarily expensive and not very good. The service was terrible for both dinner and breakfast. There is a free shuttle to the airport, but it doesn't start until 6:30 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. I would strongly suggest getting to the Malpensa area the night before, but there are other much cheaper hotels nearby and the taxi will cost you the same ($11 minimum from the airport area). One note: the swimming pool was very nice and we enjoyed cooling off after taking the train from the airport into Milan for a few hours.<BR>

There are several buses departing from Menaggo to Malpensa (with a stop in Como), but the first bus in the morning arrives in Malpensa at 8.30. you might consider staying in milano and leaving to Maplensa with the 5.00 bus from Cadorna train station or with the 5,00 or the 5.20 Malpensa shuttle bus from stazione Centrale.
