Commuting in Venice & Istanbul

Can you recommend a water taxi company in Venice so it's there waiting when I arrive? And a car service from the Ataturk Airport to the Swiss Hotel in Istanbul please. Thank you for the assistance.

Assuming you arrive by air, it is a five / ten minute stroll from the air terminal to the water taxi dock. I have never seen less than half a dozen water taxis waiting at the dock. You can arrange a water taxi at the arrivals hall.

Ask your hotel if they can arrange for a town car to pick you up. Our hotel did it for "free."

There are water taxi stands at arrivals and it is easy to get one there. It cost about 120 Euros for one destination last December, but when we shared with another couple, it was 170 total to two destinations.

It is also quite a long walk to the water taxi.

I think a bus which leaves right in front of the terminal and then a ferry to a quay close to your hotel will be much cheaper and also as scenic, altrhough possibly 45 minutes or so longer.

Here's my unfinished trip report:

Since I am among gurus...

In Venice for two full days before my fiancé joins me. Only my second time so not that familiar. I haven't been to the other islands yet and can spend one of the days exploring there...dine somewhere gorgeous overlooking the Canal, return to the piazza.. lots to do..any thoughts, favorites?

Also my second time in Istanbul. No solo rendezvous except perhaps an afternoon at the Spice Market & Sophia Hagia. I was glad to have my fiancé at the Grand Bazaar to ward off the really passionate sellers who insisted their uncle's leather is the supplest. How do the two markets compare? I loved the energy at the Bazaar.

Thanks in advance. Cheers!
