Comments please on riding the Batobus on the Seine River, Paris.
 

The Batobus travels the Seine River with round trips from the Eiffel Tower to the Hotel de Ville with 8 stops along the way. According to its current web site a one day pass is 10 Euros and a two day pass is 12.5 Euros for adults. It passses each stop every 15 minutes, and the boat holds up to 200 people. Any comments on using the Batobus for seeing the Seine River?

We had a two-day pass about a year ago and it was great. So much in Paris is near the river that it just cannot be a bad bet and, as you say, the 2-day pass is not much dearer than the one.<BR>We went some fair length walks from some stops but the only extra transport was to Montmartre which you could dispense with without undue grief.

Hi,<BR>We took the batobus last year and liked it quite a bit. We had a day pass, but I wished we had had more time, so we could have bough the 2 day pass.<BR>The batobus takes you very closely to several of the main sites. I also found the Batobus a more convenient way to get to the Eiffel tower (rather than the metro).<BR>It is also nice to go for the entire trip, just for sightseeing purposes. We did this at night (8 pm or so, and we were able to see the monuments light up. It was very nice, and doing this, we didn't have to pay extra for a "evening tour of the Seine".<BR><BR>-Alexandra

We've enjoyed the BatoBus on several trips IF the weather is nice and IF you're not in much of a hurry. Paris seen from the water is always a treat, and it is definitely better than the metro for getting to the Tour Eiffel.

We used it last week, bought the 2-day pass because it was "only" 2.50 more and enjoyed it the first day. But is is indeed slow, so the next days we went metro + walking all the way. I dare to bet that most people buy the 2-day pass, but that most people do not use the second day, especially since it is for two consecutive days. IMHO smart marketing on the part of Batobus.

We used the Batobus last year at the end of September. We had a two day pass and used instead of the Metro. The weather was great and it was very nice to look at Paris instead of the inside of a tunnel. Although it is slow we were still able to see almost all of the major sites. We walked a lot as well. We used it a lot as a point to point transport.<BR>We used the Metro once and my father-in- law was pickpocketed. BUT, that is another story.....I wouldnt not use the metro b/c it WAS faster, but sit...do not stand near the doorway. It makes you kind of a target.<BR><BR>
