Comments on Hotel du Lac/Bellagio.

Thinking of staying at Hotel du Lac for 2 nights in September. Can anyone tell me how I reach them and any comments you might have. Is this a good choice? Any other recommendations? Thanks.

Buon giorno Rose, Your trip seems to be
coming along nicely--are you having fun
doing the planning? That is half of the
fun for me. The Du Lac is a good choice.
Try email at [email protected]--they have a great location and good food.
I also like the Belvedere on the hill
above town--also a 3 star. Good luck !

Hi Rose: We stayed at the Hotel du Lac last Fall. Wonderful place. The rooms are rather plain but still very acceptable. Great location on the lakefront. I agree with Bob about the Belvidere up on the hill. If you stay at the Hotel du Lac at least walk up to the Belvidere and have lunch on their outside deck. It's one of the prettiest places around. Enjoy your stay in Bellagio.....Paul J
First, Bellagio is beautiful and I doubt you can go wrong no matter where you stay. we stayed at the Belvedere in May and were very happy. Had a large, nicely decorated room overlooking the swimming pool and the lake. it was one of their regular rooms, not a "superior" and we were very happy. The Belvedere overlooks sort of the back of the hill so you are not looking down on the town. the view is spectacular. Another advantage is that you know you'll work off a few calories on the walk up the hill from the town so you can splurge on more wonderful treats!!!

Rose,

We were in Bellagio in '97 and really enjoyed it. We stayed at the Hotel Belvedere, which we liked very much, and on which other posters have commented. But if you'd like to find contact information on the Hotel du Lac and other hotels, there is a website about Bellagio at http://www.fromitaly.net/bellagio/. There you can find info on hotels, activities, etc.

Rose, We were in Bellagio the end
of May, stayed at the Perlo
Panoramic Hotel, up the hill a few
miles, but sensational for a 2**
hotel. Our greatest treat from
this beautiful city: catch the
boat to Isola Comacina, preferably
for lunch. After three visits
there, it remains our favorite
restaurant. (Set menu, unchanged
over 60 years). It isn't cheap,
but totally memorable.
We rated our few days in Bellagio the hi-lite of our trip
to Italy. Enjoy! (The Panoramic
Hotel has an e-mail address if
anyone wants it, I'll dig it up).
