Sorry to be a pain... how would you travel the triangle of split-mostar-sarajevo-dubrovnik? I guess mostar-sarajevo will be via the famous rail route.

i am just wondering if there is any difference in route between split-mostar and dubrovnik-mostar? At the moment it would be split-sarajevo-mostar-dubrovnik. but we can do split-mostar-serajevo-dubrovnik too.

Two more days -- excellent!

No bad choices about where to add the time, just difficult choices! I think at this point you might want to consider deciding on your highest priorities for Zagreb, Split, and Sarajevo; check opening hours; and plot them out on a calendar.

I'm not sure it will help with your decision about routing, but FWIW, I took the bus from Mostar to Dubrovnik, a bus that heads to the coast and then turns south. The scenery all the way to the coast, and then particularly along the coast south to Dubrovnik, is among the most spectacular beautiful scenery any where that I've been privileged to see -- and I've had the good fortune to see some awesome scenery! JMO.

Where would you all suggest that I add those 2 precious day that we are so fortunate to have? I am torn between Zagreb (I do enjoy european cities since we are from asia), Split (because it is famous and can do day trips), and Sarajevo.

I would recommend investing at least one of those days to Zagreb. It's not coastal like the rest of your trip will be, true, but it offers an amazing vibe and it feels really homey. Apart from that, it has some nice museums and other historical and cultural sights that I'm sure will be worth visiting. :)

Thanks Kja! Unfortunately i cant seem to access the link...is yours ok?

kja Feb 21st, 2019 07:22 PM

Yes, I can open it -- I have no idea what's going on! You should also be able to find it on my trip reports -- click on my screen name, scroll to the section on trip reports, scroll to the thread on Croatia.

Also, check a recent thread (posted today!) by KarenWoo, to which rialtogrl added some restaurant notes -- and she's been there MUCH more recently than i!
