Cologne (Koln) - Airport Hotel?
Does anyone have a suggestion for a hotel near the airport in Koln? We're just looking for some place convenient before a 10:30 flight the next morning.

Why bother? There's frequent train service from downtown Cologne. It takes about 15-20 minutes. Spend the night in the city and see the cathedral and enjoy some koelsch.

Why bother? I guess because there will be six of us (me and hubby, Grandma, two teens, one kid) at the end of an 18 day trip with luggage and souvenirs and the thought of lugging them on and off a train doesn't sound too convenient. I guess I was hoping an airport hotel might have shuttle service so I wouldn't have to deal with the luggage any more.

Maybe you can see if the airport has left luggage service so that you can leave your bags there and then head into the city. The train service is really quite convenient.
Just a thought, but maybe an airport hotel is better for you. |
Not exactly sure if this is what you're suggestiong, but if we leave the luggage at the airport, and train into the city for the evening, and we stay the night in the city??, then we won't have our toiletries and such to get ready with in the morning. However, I suppose if we stay in a hotel near the aiport, and have the time and energy, sounds like we could easily train into the city anyway for the evening. Now that's an option we could leave open! Thanks!
But darn, I still need Koln airport hotel suggestions, ha. |
You could have a smaller bag with you or something.
But then you've a good point. Yes, definitely take the train to the city as it's really close and convenient if you stay near the airport. I'll have to let others help with the hotels, but hotel(s?).de may have something. This was suggested to me when I booked my hotel in Cologne two years ago. |
How about the Holiday Inn Cologne-Bonn airport?
