collobrieres, VAR
can anyone tell me anything about this small community, nw of st tropez??
|
It's bisected by a river, famous for it's marron glaces and other locally made confections made with the local chestnuts. Buy them at the shop attached to the factory Confiserie Azureenne. Deep in the forest east of Collobrieres is a real treasure of the Maurres, The Chartreuse de la Verne founded in the 18th century with some existing buildings from the 17-18th century(now occupied by nuns) It's shady and quiet unlike the rest of that area. That's all I know.

To huh, I think it might be northwest of St. Tropez. At least that's what the original post says. That would probably be in France.
