College dorms in London
Where can I find information on London college dorm rooms that will be available this summer? I'd prefer a double with bath.

Fodors

I see that at the University of Maryland such places as Cambridge Hall offer double rooms. I'm afraid halls in London almost wholly have single rooms, and almost wholly have showers down the corridor. But as well as the King's College london (kcl) reference you have from Wendy, you might try the collected colleges, on http://www.icsl.ac.uk/support/universityhalls.htm. One or two look interesting for you.

Please write if I can help urther. Welcome to London.

Ben Haines

Joe, I have booked a single room with ensuite at the Imperial College, Beit Hall for July. Situated next to the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington.
www.buac.co.uk gives you all the Universities in England which offer accommodation in their semester breaks.

All the more modern halls of residence have been built with en-suite facilities, specifically for the purpose of being able to hire them out when the students are not around.

Let me suggest my webpage on travels to Britain(an entirely non-commercial site, I hasten to add!) where I've tried to gather together information and advice about such things as budget university accomodation in London.

http://www.indiana.edu/~victoria/~trip.html

Incidentally, one of my own favorite features of the site is Ben Haines's very useful guide (which he frequently updates) to free public lectures in London.

-- Patrick

How embarrassing--I mistyped the URL to my own webpage. Here it is again:

http://www.indiana.edu/~victoria/trip.html

Any suggestions or corrections about the page content would be very welcome, by the way.

--Patrick
