Just to clarify, though, for American coffee-loving readers of this thread: although you will find Starbucks, etc., all over London, the coffee you get there does *not* (to my tastebuds, anyway)taste anything like the same as what you will find in Starbucks in your hometown. It's the way they make it: it is stronger and more bitter-tasting, and you may not like it at all. (I didn't.)

I like drip coffee. A little plastic one-cup filter and a few paper filters weigh almost nothing in the suitcase and came in very handy on the road: your favorite coffee and one of those ubiquitous plugin kettles, and you're in business.

Q.P.

I agree, it depends on your definition of coffee... the suggestion on funnel, filters and coffee is great, wish I'd seen this thread earlier.

Even at the B&B's and Hotel breakfast we were always able to get coffee, but I think that was Nescafe instant...

About the only good thing about coming home was a Starbucks brewed coffee at the airport.. of course we had been awake for 24 hours traveling, but it still was great.
