Coastal stay

We are four retirees who are planning a trip to Tuscany in April. We would really like to stay on the coast but can't seem to find any properties to rent. Does anyone know any reason for this or have any suggestions?
Thanks for any info you can give me.

I don't know anywhere right on the coast, but friends have a watermill 25 minutes up into the hills above La Spezia which is converted into apartments for letting.

See www.watermill.net

Check out www.turismo.toscana.it for general informations about the region and a few addresses and www.agriturismo.regione.toscana.it for more addresses, this time only referring to agritourisms (most of them also have full partments to rent).

Jo, I am curious why the coast in Tuscany in April, and where on the coast are you looking. The coast varies greatly from Argentario to Forte dei Marmi. What is your game plan?

Thanks for the replies. I've been away for a couple of days and have only just read them. We are still in the planning stages and wondering about Livorno, Viaregio. I think La Spezia is a little too far, although the Windmill looked just perfect. Any other suggestions would be most welcome.
