To all you world travelers out there? Help me?????? I need to find out the name ofthe city between Bari and Lecce Italy that is called either Salanta, talanta, tratnata, or soemthing that sounds like that. it's a city o nthe sea where it is upscale, very beautiful, you can rent villas or apts on the ocean and where most locals vacation? Please help me find it?????

Between Bari and Lecce is Brindisi. However, you are apparently talking about Taranto.

Did you consider opening up Google maps and typing in Puglia, or Bari? That would have given you the answer too.

Isn't Taranto on the other side. This town is on the ocean and about 1 hr or so south of Bari. I'm certain she spoke with an "s" sounding town. That's why I said Salanta first. It's driving me nuts and I don't have my cousin's e-mail to find out. Nor do I speak Italian anyway. Help me find it please!!!!

Squinzano?
Taurisano?

Do either one of those areas have an exclusive beach club? This is how one relative described it to me?

Here are a few with similar alliteration:

Savelletri
Torre Santa Sabina
Torre San Gennaro
Casalabate
Torricella

On the sea near Lecce: San Cataldo

(My personal gripe about a particular type of geography error: There is no ocean near Bari or Lecce--it's a sea.)

That whole region is called Salento, that's probably what you are thinking of. Check this out
