Clothes for London & Munich
We are visiting these two cities 1-15 June. Do you recommend bringing a rain coat or do you think just an umbrella would do? Sweaters I know are a must, but do you think I should pack a heavier coat?

Jana
I have a weighs-nothing microfiber unlined raincoat that literally rolls up into a ball, and I take that in all seasons except the dead of winter.
If I need warmth, it's roomy enough for a sweater underneath. If it's hot out, raincoat doesn't make me too much hotter.

If you don't want to invest in one
(about $75-$100 in many places, less expensive in a jacket version)then I think in terms of warmth you should be fine with the sweater and umbrella, as long as the sweater and the rest of your clothes can handle getting wet.

To the top, I'm hoping for more info or suggestions.

Jana, please stop topping. Elaine has given you excellent advice that can't be improved upon. Take a raincoat, because sometimes it's too windy for an umberlla to be effective. One sweater, as a warm layer either by itself or under the raincoat, is all you need.

Loud check shorts are a must in London

Jana: besides not topping this thread as Suzy suggests - you had already received several detailed answers on your other thread. You don't need to keep posting new threads or topping them.
