Closing Pools In Spain

Each year the pools close fairly early in the fall. I think it's September but maybe someone else knows the date exactly.

For those Fodorites planning visiting to Spain in the fall, it might be an idea if their hotel's pool is going to be open.

Just a thought.

??

I was in Seville in September last year and the rooftop pool (outdoor) at our hotel (Novotel) was open. It was 30 C every day we were there. It might help to specify which parts of Spain.

Madrid, Sevilla and Cadiz.

Even the homes around where I lived shut down their pools in the middle of September. The women change their white slacks, etc. over to the winter olive green clothes. Maybe it's tradition.

you are right.. pools tend to close very early and open very late IMHO.

so be sure to check with your hotel if it is important to you.

good observation.

also, in madrid airport hotels, check out directly the shuttle times.

we almost stayed at a hotel that turns out eliminates their shuttle in august!!

so, always good to check for those thigs that are a priority for you.

Normally here at Castellón coast the pools are opened 15 June-15 September, some others keep opened till 15 October, depending on the weather because we are a bit north and final September-October is the rainy season (at least we hope it will be !! no one knows nowadays)
