Why Monoprix in particular? I frequently resupply at the Shopi Supermarché adjacent to the École Militaire Métro station on LaMotte-Picquet.

3sica:

monoprix.fr-->mon magasin-->recherche (upper left-hand corner). Then enter your address (adresse) (Hotel des Invalides, perhaps) near the ecole complex and the code postal (75007).

The site has maps with good detail for navigating the neighborhood.

Enjoy your trip.

A Monop is very small and not like a regular Monoprix. It's sort of like a 7-11 in the US, but I think maybe smaller.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember the Monoprix on Commerce as having groceries. They don't all, although most do. Unless someone can verify that, I would go to the Beaugrenelle one as it is huge and I know they have groceries as I used to shop there. You do have to transfer at La Motte-Picquet, though and get out at Charles Michels stop. I guess you could try the first one (which is right at La Motte-Picquet, and if they don't have food, go to Beaugrenelle). The only problem is it isn't open as late on Sat night, only 8:30. However, that one is open Sunday morning, anyway (Beaugrenell). It's about one block west of the metro stop on rue Linois.

Just don't forget that Monoprix is the most expensive supermarket chain in France.

i AM trying, but it isn't easy to read an entire french website as opposed to a few words at a time....
thanks hmmm, i will try it out again (i did do that once, but somehow it said something like not found in 75007 and suggested 14th or 10th??? maybe i keyed something wrongly )

It doesn't HAVE to be monoprix, as long as the is something in the neighbourhood where i can get some groceries. Will walk around when I reach there, just worried about the operating hours of shops in Paris, esp since i reach in the evening and the next day is Sunday!

Yes, the Monoprix on rue du Commerce has a large grocery department on the upper level.
There is some small grocer on rue Cler - it might have been the "Leader Price" I see at corner of rue Cler / rue du Champ de Mars..? There's a Franprix at the next corner (north) at rue de Grenelle, across from Le Roussillon.. and, as Robes says, the Shopi one door off place Ecole Militaire.

Hi 3S,

>...isn't easy to read an entire french website .....<

I use http://imtranslator.com/. It will translate up to 1000 words at a time.

Franprix is the largest supermarket chain in Paris and the suburbs (it does not exist outside the Paris metropolitan area). Leader Price is exactly the same chain with the same house brands but is found in both Paris and throughout France. Interestingly enough, these chains belong to Groupe Casino (which also operates Casino supermarkets and Géant hypermarkets)... and Groupe Casino is also the owner of Monoprix. So you may think that these are different brands but they are really all the same, except for the prices charged.

In descending order for prices, the rating is: Monoprix, Casino, Géant, Franprix, Leader Price.

Lately, Franprix supermarkets have extended their opening hours, generally to 9 p.m.
