Just a heads up

That is so awkward and confusing, as daylight savings time does not end in the States until the following Sunday, November 5th. Can't we all just get along?

Might be for one of the last times. Big EU debate coming up over whether or not to get rid of summertime. Most seem to be in favour of scrapping it.
I'd be happy to stay on summertime rather than CET. I like the long summer evenings, and the extra light we still have in the afternoon. Sunrise at 4 am in the summer is no use to anyone. Sunrise at 5.30 tomorrow is of no use to most people.unset at 17.10 is ust downright depressing.

nukesafe - you start daylight savings earlier than Europe start summertime too. Of course not all state have Daylight Saving, which is more confusing for visitors, and Arizona is just the worst as you have to know if you are on Navajo lands or not for the correct time!

And then there's Newfoundland, Canada, with its' half hour time difference from the rest of its time zone.

I'm another who would rather stay on daylight savings time (summer) permanently. I much prefer the light in the evenings and find it hard for weeks after the change in fall not to go to bed at 8:00, it just seems so late by the time I get home it feels like I should eat dinner and then turn in. Of course, I leave for work at 7:10, so it will be dark then before the winter is over anyway. Give me the light at the end of the day.

"Give me the light at the end of the day."

Truly poetic!

I traveled to Switzerland a couple of falls ago. Got an 'extra' hour of life in Switzerland, and ANOTHER hour of life when I got back to the USA ;-)

One week with an hour less jet lag - London only 4 hours from U.S.!

Or is it all an hour longer?

very confusing.

that's nothing, Dukey. Nepal is ¼ hour ahead of India and Bangladesh is ½ hour ahead of India, by which it is entirely surrounded, apart of course from the sea.

Going by land from Nepal to Bangladesh must be very confusing.
