I see Ingo left you a message on your other posting re porcelain. My recommendation on clocks is to go either to the Bucherer store in Berlin (2 hours north of Dresden) or to their website bucherer.com. It is a Swiss company with high quality merchandise. I bought my watch there a number of years ago and then ordered a catalog from the website and got nice clocks for Christmas gifts. I faxed the payment information and they sent the items out right away. Great service.

Yes, I was sleeping at this time :-)

I don't know about a "Grandfather clock", but for watches I recommend Wempe in the street south of the Altmarkt square (Seestrasse if I recall correctly, but you cannot miss it). Excellent choices. He sells all the famous brands.

There is also a sort of "Watch valley" south of Dresden (Müglitztal). In the small town Glashütte they manufacture some of the highest quality watches at all (owned by a Swiss company). Look for the brands "Glashütte Original" or "A. Lange & Söhne". Really expensive though. You can visit their manufactures upon request.

Linda ,

Thanks for your input. I will be looking into this website for sure!

We are also considering Berlin since it is so close.
