We wiil be in Rome, Florence, and Venice in early Nov. and I am wondering what the temps are like at that time. I know it is the rainy season, but am wondering how cold it will be, how to dress, etc.

Hey Rhonda, I will be in venice, florence in nov from oct30 - nov15. Specifically,
oct30-nov2 venice nov2-6 florence nov7 siena nov8 orvieto nov9,10 sorrento nov11-15 rome The temps will range between 16 and 6 deg celcius. sunrise approx 7 am, sunset 5 pm. rainfall 3-4 inches in the whole month depending on place (rainfall in nov is pretty much the same as in chicago, which is where I'm from). What is your itinerary like? |
Venice especially will be cold. But fun!! Venice has the Adriatic Sea and to the north the Dolomities Mts. Wind can be very cold. I would sure bring a warm coat, muffler, gloves etc. Dress like the natives.
But in spite of the cold I wish I were going. Have a fun time! |
ssachida - my itinerary is Rome 11/4 & 5, Florence 11/6 & 7, then Venice 11/8,9 & 10. I am from St. Louis where we have NO CLUE what the weather will be like at that time of year. Sometimes it is freezing and other times it can be in the 60's and even 70'a. GO CARDINALS!

I just received a phone call early this Sunday morning from a friend in Veneto (she lives 40 miles north of Venice). Said they did not really have an autumn, most days are cold. Some days sunny but that winter has definetly arrived. Hope this helps some with packing questions.
