Clifden Ireland, farm or stable lodging
Hello travelers,
I'm looking for a 2 night September stay in the Clifden area on a farm or riding stable. The majority of our trip will be spent in nicer hotels in towns so this would be a nice variety to our experience. Thanks for any info or ideas. |
Dan O'Haras might be a good option but is a little out of town http://www.connemaraheritage.com/accommodation.htm Arts Week is on 19-29th if the dates fit its a great time to be in town http://clifdenartsweek.ie/

WE stayed here and loved it. I walked at dawn with the Irish Setter of the house---magical.

Just know what not to say on your immigration forms if you're from North America - the US forms ask about whether you were on a farm while abroad. Given the importance of agricultural integrity, I'd guess Canadian forms have the same question . . .

Thanks for adding to the list, anyone stay at Faul House?
Yes, coming from a farm, I will make sure my boots are scrubbed clean before packing for home. |
Never stayed there ourselves but a good ish location just walkable into town and well thought of.

Sorry (This forum desperately needs an edit feature) forgot to add map link for the area http://goo.gl/maps/L5ihu and recomend Cleggan stables if you want to go riding (inc beach) http://www.clegganridingcentre.com/

Yeah!! thanks Tony for the stable rec.
I'm a rider and will be researching stables after getting lodging secured. |
Tony, just now looking at the map.
Was this your trip route? We will be spending 6 days in this area with many of the same places to visit. Thanks for sharing!! |
The map started as a rough guide for someone staying in Ashford Castle last December. Clifden is just our regular get away from it place, probably spend a few weeks split into couple of night stays every year. so any info feel free to ask.
