Clermont Ferrand area

Hi
we are driving from UK to Costa Brava in June and plan on one overight stop within about 100 km north of or maybe in the Clermont Ferrand area. Can anyone suggest nice hotel/good food not too far off the motorway
Thanks
anne

Anne, there's someone on bonjourparis.com who lives there and maybe could help you.
The only place I know but is a bit more distance is the famous darling of chefs, the remarkable Michel Bras and his remote hotel/restaurant in Laguiole(home of the famopus knives)

Anne, my wife and I stayed in the Dav'Hôtel in Clermont-Ferrand for two nights. It's in the centre of the city, which may not appeal to you. You can read about the hotel and a restaurant we dined in near the cathedral in our trip report:

Take a look, too, at Radio, a hotel on the western side of CF. It was our first choice, but was closed for holidays when we were there last May. Here's a review from TripAdvisor:

It's a beautiful area ... if you have time, you may want to linger.

Thanks guys
I really appreciate your help. Can't wait to drive over the Millau bridge again. Need to find out if there are viewing platforms nearby
best wishes
Anne

There's a permanent visitors' center near the bridge with viewing points.
