classical music in Florence and Siena

We will be in Florence the week of Sept 13 - 20th and Siena 20-27. Does anyone have insight into the classical music scene for these two cities? Where concerts are advertised? etc. Thanks

Here's a good starting place: http://english.firenze.net/groups/2/36/.

You can also subscribe (free) to a newspaper related to that site that emails timely information on current and upcoming concerts, exhibitions, etc.

There is an inexpensive and absolutely delightful classical music concert with vocal accompaniment in both Florence and Siena-- Concerto Classico (for details go to www.concertoclassico.info or email them at [email protected] )

Their proceeds go to support a nonprofit orphanage in India, AMALA

Do a google search for Teatro Verdi in Florence. I think they are open by September 13th. They close for the summer.
