Classic Journeys - has anyone ...

had experience with them or heard anything about them? They are a tour outfit that handles small groups on walking tours.

Do you mean the "classic journeys" category of walking tours offered by ATG-Oxford (Alternative Travel Group), an English company?

No, I don't think so. The brochure I received is from La Jolla, Ca.

I am also interested in this tour company. I have received information on their Cinque Terre/Tuscany Walking tour and looking for anyone who has taken this company as a solo traveller. Got good feedback about them from someone @ AOL but looking for additional feedback from solo travelers.

My husband and I have been on 3 trips with this group and had a really good experience. Small groups (from 5-14 people), small upscale hotels and great food! We especially enjoyed 2 of their Italy trips - the one to Sicily and the one to the Amalfi coast & Naples. Sergio, the guide, was wonderful.. and I'd do the trip again in a minute. If you call Classic Journeys, speak to Edward, one of the owners. He's knowledgeable and enthusiatic and really wants to make your trip "exceptional" (that's their motto). There were several solo travelers in our group and I think they all had a good time. Everyone got along well and it was a congenial group. If you want more info, please e-mail me directly. <BR>
