Classes--Cooking/Art in Paris???
Going to Paris in March and would love to take a 1-2 day workshop in cooking or drawing/painting/craft. On a visit once to Tokyo I took a flower arranging class and it was wonderful. Thanks for any thoughts, websites.

Hi, There is a website for the Ecole Ferrandi, 11 rue Jean Ferrandi,6e.Tel;01 49 54 29 33 /01 49 54 28 00.
I tried to book for dinner at the Restaurant B.E.P of the Ecole Ferrandi but they were full. Aparantly it's one of the best kept culinary secrets of Paris! The training school is run by the Paris Chamber of Commerce. Thus, the pre-fixe menu is always changing with four courses in all. It seats 40-50 and open at weekends. Maybe you can get a short course there? Out of town there is of course Susan Loomis in Louviers, a 2hr journey by train & bus to her cooking school. She also has a website. Now, about art. Try and get information at PARIS AMERICAN ART, 2 et 4 rue Bonaparte. Tel; 01 43 26 09 93/Fax; 01 40 46 87 02 - 01 43 54 33 80. Best of luck! |

Todd, thanks for your reply. Hoping to find some other alternatives too. I've read about Paris Loisirs Culturels Atelier for painting and Princess Marie-Blanche de Broglie at Cuisine MB. Has anyone heard of or experienced either of these schools. Thanks.

Have you checked Patricia Wells?
|
thanks for the Patricia Wells suggestion. All of her classes through the fall are full so she must be good. They are also for a full week and I was hoping for a 1-2 day workshop.

Did you check www.shawguides.com?

I attended one of Françoise Meunier's cooking classes last Thursday: www.fmeunier.com
Her classes are 10:30 to 1:30, although by the time you finish the meal you have prepared, it's closer to 2:30. Mme Meunier speaks English, but her classes are conducted in French. Anselm |
Saw a short article about this in the current issue of Travel and Leisure:

jsmith, thanks for the reference--looks good and lots of choices. I've also been investigating manstouch travel.com for classes given in a restaurant. So many choices actually! Would love to hear from anyone who's taken any 1 day classes for their reactions. Thanks.
