City Hotel Whitechapel a suitable alternative for County Hall London?
I was all set to book a family/quad room at County Hall hotel London ( especially after all the favorable reviews here and at tripadvisor) but was disappointed to discover that they classify a 16 year old as an adult and they will not accept 3 adults to a room. We are a family of 2 adults , a 14 year old and 16 year old.
Booking 2 double rooms is not an economical alternative. I also didn't want to risk showing up with a 16 year old ( if they check passport ID etc for age )and have to change accommodation at the last minute.
Therefore I am now considering City Hotel Whitechapel which has a good rate for a quad at londonnights.com. I would appreciate any feedback from people who have stayed there or who are familiar with the area. We will be arriving from Paris by Eurostar and departing from Heathrow 3 days later.

Don't know the exact location of City Hotel Whitechapel, but the area is in the East End, near Liverpool Street station. Not near Waterloo for the Eurostar nor convenient for Heathrow. Not handy for theatre or most sights either, though good if you want to do Jack the Ripper tours, the markets in Petticoat Lane and Spitalfields or the Tower.

NOT a place I would stay -- especially for a family vacation. It is out near Aldgate East tube station. There are lots of reasonable priced hotels in much more convenient parts of London.
Areas like Victoria have many low to moderate cost hotels. And places like Paddington or Earls Court are slightly less central but have MANY cheap hotels.

What price are you planning to pay for the quad room?
Lately, the 4* Thistle Marble Arch in the Bloomsbury zone on Priceline has been going for about $60 USD + taxes and fees for at least some bidders. Two rooms at that price, if you could snag that deal, seem like they'd be worth it to me. If interested, look at www.betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com for bidding tips. The Kensington zone on Priceline has good deals too.

Thanks for the suggestion WillTravel.
Didn't want to pay more than @ $170-180 USD for a quad room.
Living in Australia, I am completely unfamiliar with the Priceline process but I plan on studying the system and maybe having a go!! Those prices look pretty good.
