Cities near Milan
Do you know any nice small cities (perhaps historic) near Milan? I'm going there and to Como in february and I'm so exited! =D

I spent a few days in Bergamo a couple of years ago. A 20 or 30 minute ride from Milan and a charming little city with a lovely central square.

Depends what you mean by small. Monza, for example, in spite of its historic importance is pretty much part ofthe Milan conurbation. But you might try Pavia (for its monastery), Bergamo (which is just nice), Cremona (ditto). And, although it's a bit big and truly horrid in parts, Brescia has some glorious buildings.
It wasn't too nice when I lived nearby. But Gorgonzola actually has its own metro station, if you don't find going to see too cheesy. |
When you say you are "going to Como" are you talking about the city of Como, the lake, or both?

Marle - How about Parma? Lugano?
