Citadines-stayed there?

I am thinking of staying at a Citadines in Bordeaux because it not only has a kitchen for making ones own breakfast, but has very low prices. I liked the outside of the Citadienes in Lyon but have never seen the rooms, nor do I know how they are maintained. I would appreciate information from anyone who has stayed in an Citadines, of course especially in Bordeaux. I know they have no "style" but clean and utilitarian is OK. thanks

I've seen the interiors of a couple of Citadines in Paris. Pleasant enough modern decor (but no "Old World Charm.") Seems like a good choice for folks who want some of the advantages of an apartment -- additional space and cooking facilities -- but would rather not risk an apartment rental through an agency or with an individual. As you probably know, the Citadines typically have a choice of apartment sizes.

Hi
My mother and aunt stayed at the Citadines in Lyon (the one on the Presqu'ile) for a week when visiting me in the city.

They were more than happy with the service, apartment and location. They liked having the choice of preparing their own breakfast in their kitchenette or going down to the Citadines breakfast room, and the fact that they had hotel type services while keeping the freedom of an apartment.

They also saved money on lunches and dinners as they didn't feel like going to restaurants for every meal.

I saw the interior of the apartment they had (which had a separate bedroom, bathroom, hallway, living room with fold out sofa bed and kitchenette) and it looked spacious, comfortable and modern, though as Dave says, it wasn't exactly oozing "Old World Charm".

I live in bordeaux, Citadine is a very good choice, near all amenities, very clean and quiet. It is very easy to go to food shops at five minutes walk through a city parc, you can take the tramway very easy and a lot of bus. Prefer the flat with a bedroom separate. Have a good trip in our very nice beloved city.

We stayed at Citadines in Paris. The room was great and the staff were wonderful. It was great having breakfast and then able to get going early.

Since posting my question, I have found reviews elsewhere (tripadvisor.com?) which totally blast the Citadines Bordeaux, even though the other Citadines are praised. Criticisms range from a mild "out of the way" to dirty, slovenly, bad attitudes, run down etc. So I have decided not to stay there. Will stay at 4 soeurs instead.

I have stayed at several Citadines in Paris/London, and Citadines Bordeaux February last year.

It is true that the room wasn't as nice as those in Paris/London, more dated/faded, the kitchen less equiped; but it wasn't really too bad.

With tram stop around the corner, about 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral, it wasn't too badly located. The only concern was the area was half deserted in the evening, not really comfortable for solo traveler to walk alone in the night.
