Citadine Paris Bastille

Has anyone stayed here recently? Looking for 3-4 nights apt. for 3 adults 1 baby. Thanks.

Did not stay after checking it out. Thought it was worn around the edges, cramped, uncomfortable furniture, not very good value for money. For the price there are many alternatives including short term apartment if having a kitchen is important. The Ibis Bastille Opera is in the same general area and provides better value (and much better breakfast option) though you would need to book two rooms.

we loved the location and had a studio which was very small even for 2.

Thanks, that's kind of what I suspected.

My wife and I have visited Paris a number of times and twice have stayed at Citadines - once at Citadines Bastille and once at Citadines Voltaire Republique as part of a timeshare exchange). We enjoyed both, but thought the neighborhood around Voltaire Republique was more charming. We liked Citadines for what they are - convenient small apartments with full kitchens and washer/dryers in the building to limit the amount of clothing we needed to bring. We have not stayed in an apartment during any of our trips to Paris, so I can't compare the two. If you want to truly experience the charm of a small Paris hotel, Citadines is not the best choice. If you want the convenience of a refrigerator, microwave, living room and a washer/dryer, I would certainly consider Citadines. BTW, we are going back to Paris in 2010 and will be staying at Hotel Residence Foch, because we wanted to stay in the 16e.

We have stayed there five times over the past three years. We have always reserved a studio with two beds. Last March, we took advantage of a special rate of 25 Euros per night and were upgraded to a larger room with a lovely balcony.

We really appreciate having the kitchen facilities since my daughter is on a restricted diet and we prefer to cook.

The primary disadvantage for us is that towels are changed only weekly, so we take a couple of old threadbare towels from home.

We have not stayed in one of the one-bedroom apartments but they appear to be the same as the studio with an extra bedroom attached. It might be a bit crowded for three adults.

We like this location and have also stayed many times at the Place d'Italie location.
