Cirus/Pulse ATMs in Italy?

Traveling to Italy soon and wondering if the ATM machines in Italy are mainly Cirus, Pulse, or neither.

TDudette May 28th, 2009 05:18 AM

Cirrus everywhere but that's what our card uses so I haven't looked for Pulse.

adrienne May 28th, 2009 05:19 AM

My Visa ATM is a Cirrus and it works throughout Italy and other European countries.

Most of the main banks ATM machines take most cards, certainly Cirrus, Visa, Mastercard etc. Not sure about Pulse though, although if it's a main card in US or UK, it should be OK. Why not check with your card issuer?

Are you sure the logo isn't 'plus' instead of pulse?
If so, Plus is accepted everywhere in Italy.

Plus and Cirrus are everywhere and are combined on all ATMs. There may be ATMS that take only Plus or Currus but have never seen it.

Jillyperk,
Most ATMs (bancomats) in Italy take both Cirrus (MasterCard) and Plus (Visa). Pulse is not available in Italy.
