Cinque Terre Hotel/room/apt

I'm looking for a cheap hotel or room/apt in Monterosso for 2 people and wanted to see if anyone out there had advice. We're hoping to stay in Old Town, and in an effort to save money I'm looking to spend less than 120 euro/night. I'm looking to book in advance since my friend and I are getting there at different times. I know that you can go to the tourist office right off the train, but does anyone know of websites or email addresses so that we can rent a cheap room or apt now for Sept? A cheap hotel would be ok too.

Thanks,
nykri

We just stayed at Hotel Villa Steno in a double room for 125E per night cash. It was WONDERFUL, the most amazing hotel I have EVER stayed at in the Cinque Terre. Check out all the reviews on tripadvisor.com. There are raves on Fodors too if you do a search on Hotel Villa Steno.
If you do decide to go with them, say that you have the Rick Steve's book to get your rate down to 125E per night. Otherwise, it is 135E per night.

Thanks for the kind replies. I will look into Villa Steno and fishnet.it. Any other ideas? Is it possible to find a place under 100 euros?

Much thanks,
nykri

nykri: I know a lot of great hotels in Monterosso al mare that are under 120 euros a night! Here are just a few (along with their email addresses for further inquiry):

Hotel Souvenir, Via Gioberti 24 (tel 011-39-0187-817483/fax 011-39-0187-817296 email: [email protected]) 40 euros per person a night

Affittacamere "Unico", Via XX settembre (tel 011-39-0187-817714 email: [email protected]) 60 euros for a double room per night

Albergo Marina, Via Buranco 40 (tel 011-39-0187-817613/fax 011-39-0187-817242 email: [email protected]) 54 euros per person per night

Albergo Amici, Via Buranco 36 (tel 011-39-0187-817544 email: [email protected]) 67 euros per person a night

Affittacamere Monica, Piazza Don Minzoni (tel 011-39-0187-818344 email: [email protected]) 70 euros per night for a double room

Hotel La Colonnina, Via Zuecca 6 (011-39-0187-817455 email: [email protected]) 93 euros per night for a double room

Hotel Puntamesco, Via Molinelli 35 (011-39-0187-817495 email: [email protected]) 105 euros per night for a double room

You will find all the above hotels and many more listed on Monterossonet.com (http://www.cinqueterrenet.com/ita/strutture/index.htm). There is also a link for a map to see where they are located in the town.

I got the contact below from sean rosatai, a guide in monterosso. I did not contact him (we stayed at villa steno), but you may find it helpful.

The Net(his name is Enso) has a good line in Monterosso on rooms/apts. that are clean and cheap. You can email Enso at: [email protected] or call him(39) 0187-817-288

We just returned yesterday from Hotel Pasquale in Monterosso at which was steps from the water and beautiful and warm ...the best place we stayed in 4 weeks in Italy where we stayed at some 5 star places! And it came in at a very reasonable 135 Euro. wonderful homemade pastry, wonderful views, very clean, very warm. they are the same family that owns the villa steno. (the pasini family) and you can contact them though www.pasini.com. I am planning my next trip now.
